Getting the first position in the corporate world is not an easy thing at all. There is almost a cut throat competition in the market and every merchandiser tries different ways to attract customers and stay ahead of its rivals. Amongst such tough conditions if some company is ranked number one then the feeling is really hard to be described in words. We cannot even image how Virgin Media must be felling after being named as the winner of the latest broadband speed tests conducted in March. With this, the company succeeded in defending its reputation as the UK's fastest broadband Deals provider. Virgin Media outplayed its competitors with an average download speeds of 8.192Mbps in March followed by O2 Broadband and BE Broadband with 5.355 Mbps. Sky, Talk Talk and BT succeeded in getting the third, fourth and the fifth position with a speed of 3.829 Mbps, 3.535 Mbps and 3.258 Mbps respectively.
As far as the uploading speed was concerned, O2 and BE Broadband succeeded in having the last laugh with an average upload speeds of 0.703 Mbps followed by Virgin Media broadband with speeds of 0.550 Mbps. Sky, this time too, remained at the number three position.
Virgin Media's fiber optic broadband is quite popular amongst the UK people and approximately 55% of UK homes are using it. It provides maximum speeds of up to 50Mbps. However, its speed may vary from place to place depending upon the location. Currently it is also providing size L, up to 10Mbps broadband service, free for the first three months. Once these three months get over, the subscribers need to pay £12.50 a month also for mobile broadband deals.
