“Interest in digital TV in the UK
is on a continuous rising at an accelerated pace”, was what Neil
Gaydon, CEO of Pace, said after IMS Research disclosed that his company
was the world's largest supplier of Set-Top boxes.
The Yorkshire based Pace has developed systems for well known companies
such as Virgin Media, BT and Sky. Pace has been praised for being a
customer generic organization, which works closely with its partners to
continuously develop innovative technologies.
Earlier this year, Pace developed a new BT Vision set-top box.
The new Vision+ box promises to a multitude of features, including, up
to 70 Freeview channels, a well stocked library of films, music and
sport on-demand over broadband. The Vision+ box will allow users to
pause, rewind, record and store up to 80hrs of TV without a problem on
its 160GB Hard drive. It has also been suggested that sport fans who
are planning to watch a summer full of top class sports should sign up
to a digital TV deal to get the very best coverage.
Further proof of the rise of Digital TV can be seen from Virgin Media's
declaration that its on-demand TV service experienced over 200 million
views during the first three months of this year.
